10th High Latitude Workshop 2026

febrúar 11 febrúar 12

In situ measurements, remote sensing, modeling, long-range transport, and impacts of HLD and low-latitude dust in the Arctic, with emphasis on CAMS in Iceland.

The 2nd Dust-art exhibition at the venue.

Discover the innovative fusion of science and art, showcasing works created with natural dust materials.

Event Overview

The 10th High Latitude Dust Workshop will take place in Reykjavik on 11-12 February 2026 in a hybrid format, including both in-person and online talks. This interdisciplinary workshop will share results from:

High Latitude Dust (HLD) field measurements,
Processes leading to dust suspension,
Identification and mapping of HLD sources,
Long-range transport of HLD and Saharan dust towards the Arctic,
Impacts of impurities on the cryosphere, and
The role of aerosols in high-latitude environments.

In 2026, the focus will be on in situ measurementsremote sensingmodelinglong-range transport, and the climate impacts of HLD and low-latitude dust in the Arctic and at high latitudes. The workshop will include a CAMS Session with experts from ECMWF and WMO SDS WAS.
