9th High Latitude Workshop 2025

Hybrid Hybrid Event

February 12 February 13

In-situ measurements, remote sensing, modeling, long-range transport, and impacts of HLD and low latitude dust in the Arctic, emphasizing CAMS in Iceland.

NEW in 2025: Dust-Art Exhibition.

Discover the innovative fusion of science and art, showcasing works created with natural dust materials.

Event Overview

The 9th High Latitude Dust Workshop will take place in Reykjavik on 12-13 February 2025 in a hybrid format, including both in-person and online talks. This interdisciplinary workshop will share results from:

High Latitude Dust (HLD) field measurements,
Processes leading to dust suspension,
Identification and mapping of HLD sources,
Long-range transport of HLD and Saharan dust towards the Arctic,
Impacts of impurities on the cryosphere, and
The role of aerosols in high-latitude environments.

In 2025, the focus will be on in-situ measurements, remote sensing, modeling, long-range transport, and climate impacts of HLD and low latitude dust. The workshop will include a CAMS User Engagement Session with experts from ECMWF and WMO SDS WAS, opening a platform for discussions on aerosol monitoring and modeling.

Registration is now closed! Please indicate your participation preferences and provide information about your presentation, if applicable.

Registration for on-site attendees is mandatory.
